Q. Will Online Journal fit for my journal?
A. Depends what you need. You can read the info in this page, try out the demo, download and run the test version. While it's originally designed for academic institutions, it also can be used in newsletter and magazines. If you require some features that are not included in the current system, please contact us, we will add the requested feature in the future version. Or we may add the feature upon your special requirement. See customization below.
Q. Do you provide customization of the journal?
A. Yes. We provide customization of the journal system, if you need extra features, please contact us, we will implement it at your requests. Extra service fee will be charged.
Q. What hosting scenario should I use?
A. Depending on your technical expertise and resources, you may determine how to best host your journal: on your own server, via our hosting service, or using an external hosting provider.
Q. How can I implement my own template and add it to the journal?
A. The journal system is designed with support for multiple templates. You may create it based on the template files under directory "temp" of the journal's base directory, one html page for each tpl files, and rename the html suffix to .tpl. Or you can send your template files to us, and we will put it into the journal. This service is included in the support for subscribed users.
Q. How does the system support multiple languages?
A. The system comes with multi-lingual support for content, indexing and searches, in which English is the default language, along with an extra language of your choice, at present; we have Chinese and Arabic versions. If you need support for other languages, please contact us.
Q. How can I install the journal system?
A. See install file under docs of the base directory for details.
Q. How can I create a backup of an online journal site?
A. It is strongly recommended that the journal system be periodically backed up to guard against a server software or database failure that could result in data loss. To properly backup the journal system, the following should be backed up:
* The online journal system database, using the tools provided by your DBMS (e.g. phpMyAdmin)
* The base journal system directory
Q. How can I move an existing system installation to a different server?
A. To move a system from one server to another, you will need to:
* Contact us for license number. Install the system on the new server.
* Copy the database data, and import it into the new server (e.g., using the tools provided by the MySQL)
